Operation Love Ministries
MISSION STATEMENT:
<p>&quot;Help for Today &amp; Hope for Tomorrow&quot;</p> <p><strong>Our Mission</strong></p> <p>Operation Love Ministries, Inc., reaches out as the hands and feet of Christ in Madison County to provide tangible goods and services to those in need.</p> <h2><strong>Our Vision</strong></h2> <p>OLM&nbsp;is specifically structured as a&nbsp;vehicle whereby the collective Church may fulfill&nbsp;its&nbsp;call to serve the lost, poor, and hurting in our community. &nbsp;While many&nbsp;churches struggle to&nbsp;address the great breadth of needs before them, Operation Love Ministries serves as a pathway to &nbsp;connect churches&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;collective body, assist with administration and strategic development of outreach programs, share best practices in ministry, and&nbsp;pool resources to best reach out to the hurting and broken.</p> <p>OLM is&nbsp;governed by&nbsp;a board comprised of members from Alliance Churches, who represent this collective and direct its&nbsp;ministries.</p>

Food & Goods Pantries

Client Choice Food Pantry:
Wed 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. shop a selection of donated items including dry goods, canned goods, fresh produce and dairy (as available), frozen items, baked goods, and more

Bring the following:

  • Adults: photo ID & piece of mail,
  • Children: any official documentation (such as a birth certificate, social security card, school registration paperwork, enrollment documents from aid programs, etc.)

The 2020 client choice food pantry runs from January 8th through December 2nd. The last of these pantries for the year will be December 2nd, due to Christmas meal box distribution (pre-registration in October required).

Emergency Food Box:

a small box of pre-selected items designed to provide a few meals until the next scheduled area pantry is available

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

*Emergency food is only available if no other pantries are open or the family in need lives within local neighborhood and has transportation issues (one visit per year limit). Please see the list of CURRENT LOCAL FOOD PANTRIES for dates and times of availability.

Bonus Food Pantry:
1 p.m.- 3 p.m. each 3rd Thursday of the month, except for December

(December’s bonus pantry will be the 2nd Wednesday)

shop a limited selection of items including dry goods, canned goods, frozen items, and miscellaneous through OLM’s participation of the government TEFAP food distribution. No ID or proof of residency required for this pantry distribution.

Clothing & Goods Pantry:
shop a selection of donated clothing & coats of all sizes, along with housewares such as place settings, sheets and blankets, and more

9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Items needed: Photo ID for each adult, proof of need (call 765-644-2121 for details)

Seasonal Programs

Christmas Wishes Program

  • Christmas meal box for singles or families
  • Toys for any children
  • Basic essentials as available (shoes, coats, hats, gloves, soap, etc)
  • Full family sponsorship available for those with critical needs and emergency situations

No-Charge Shopping Experience in early December

Back to School Readiness Program

  • Backpacks for children in need
  • Items matched to the need for each child, given the school supply list provided
  • Special clothing pantry shopping experience for back-to-school clothes
  • Partnerships with several area organizations to provide supplies and/or backpacks to pre-qualified participants

Human Services Programs

A Balanced Budget: Budget Assessment, Guidance, and Financial Assistance 

Our Human Services Coordinator and Assistant will guide applicants through budgeting processes, including increasing income with employment or government supports programs as well as cost reduction techniques and tips, while focusing on long-term financial sustainability. Financial assistance is open to those who are able to make a commitment to long-term changes that will lead to gaining financial literacy, seeking improved employment, and achieving goals for their families and futures.

Balanced Budget Programs include:

  • Needs Assessment and Customized Sustainability Plans, including Referrals
  • Financial Assistance Intervention for Qualified Participants
  • Budgeting Assistance & Financial Literacy Tools

Pharmaceutical Assistance for Long-Term Medications: 

Dedicated Pharmaceutical Advocates will assess your list of medications, income, and current financial situation to see what programs may be available for your situation. Medications may be available at a lower cost, or completely for free.  Call 765-644-2121 any Tuesday or Thursday mornings from 9-11:30 to speak to a trained representative.
