Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon
MISSION STATEMENT:
<h1><a href="https://www.oregonhunger.org/">Partners <em>for a</em> Hunger-Free Oregon</a> works with the community to end hunger before it begins.</h1>
<p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">We document the </span>extent of hunger</span></span><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:14.08px"><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">, coordinate and publicize existing services, advocate for programs and policies to eliminate hunger. Our goal is to provide family economic stability and food security so that all Oregonians have sufficient means and ready access to an adequate amount of nutritious, quality food.</span></span> </span></p>
<p><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:14.08px">Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon provides technical support to our partners in the community who serve Oregon's at-risk families. We support and advocate for public policy that will increase economic stability, strengthen our food system and increase access to the food assistance safety net on the local, state and federal levels. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0)">Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon also manages the work of the <a href="https://www.oregonhungertaskforce.org/">Oregon Hunger Task Force</a>,</span> created by the Oregon State Legislature in 1989 (ORS 458.532) to act as a resource within government and as a statewide advocate for Oregonians who are hungry or at risk of hunger. The Task Force works collaboratively with stakeholders throughout Oregon to promote community awareness, compile research, develop proposals for government action, and conduct outreach to expand participation in federal nutrition programs. </span></span></p>
