The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act (Public Law 116-136) provides the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) with broad authority to waive or establish alternative requirements for numerous statutory and regulatory requirements for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. This Attachment provides a Summary of HCV Waivers and Alternative Requirements that WCCA is applying to the HCV program in response to the pandemic.Apple Country Transportation, part of Western Carolina Community Action Inc., is contracted with Henderson County to provide Public Transportation through Apple Country Transit.
Also through our Grant programs, we are able to serve the public, to those who qualify, with transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, work, and with other needs. Please see our programs below to see what you may be eligible for.
